Notice: Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres - Annual Return (1 January - 31 December 2024)

Information about the Annual Return for Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres (YFVCs) in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland

This Annual Return will open week ending 21 March 2025

All Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres (YFVCs), who remained designated during 2024, are reminded that an Annual Return must be submitted each year.

Centres who withdrew during 2024 are not required to submit this return but are asked for some information relating to YF vaccine use separately, as part of the withdrawal process.

You can prepare for your 2024 Annual Return by ensuring that you can access the following information:

• YFVC identifying number and postcode

• Number of YF vaccines given, according to age

• Number of reinforcing YF vaccine doses given and reason for this

• Number of staff who undertook YF risk assessment and/or administered YF vaccine

• Training status of health professionals who undertook YF risk assessment and/or administered YF vaccine

• Number of YF vaccines given when there was a precaution or contraindication to YF vaccination

• Number and details of serious adverse events following YF vaccination

• Number of Medical Letters of Exemption issued and reason for issue

• How your YFVC ensured best YF vaccination practice

Whilst most of the questions we ask remain the same for each Annual Return, there may be fewer or additional questions in some years.*

YFVCs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are required under the Conditions of Designation for YFVC to submit an Annual Return each year. Failure to submit may result in suspension or de-designation of the YFVC.

The Annual Return for 2024 will open week ending 21 March 2025. Please watch the website for further details.

To help YFVCs prepare for the 2024 Annual Return a draft set of questions can be found here; this is for information only and cannot be used for submission. Annual Returns must be submitted online; the link will be available on the Yellow Fever Zone once the survey is open. These draft questions may be subject to minor change and logic has been applied throughout; so not all questions will be relevant to every YFVC.

*Please note that the 2024 Annual Return will contain some optional questions that are not specific to YF vaccination services. Your answers will help us to understand how we can better support you in practice.
